The Machine Tool Institute (IMH) is an Advanced Manufacturing Center that offers specialized training in Advanced Manufacturing (AF) and Technological/Organizational Innovation services for companies.
The IMH is a public Integrated Vocational Training Center belonging to the Basque Government, and as such belongs to Ikaslan Gipuzkoa, a network of public vocational training centers in this territory. On the other hand, the Dual Engineering University School of the IMH is, since 2011, a center attached to the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU).
The IMH is an Agent of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network in the category of “Intermediate innovation organization” and member of i2bask and RedIRIS.
The IMH, as an integral part of AFM CLUSTER, is responsible for the training of the machine tool sector. AFM CLUSTER is the organization that represents the interests of Advanced Manufacturing in Spain. Made up of four industrial associations, it brings together 500 companies, which employ 16,500 people and have a turnover of more than 3,000 million euros. From its headquarters in Donostia-San Sebastian, and its establishment in Tianjin (China), AFM CLUSTER works to promote internationalization, industrial development, strategic positioning and training of people in its member companies.
